Come, let's be honest for a minute, if you didn't get into the band because of the "California" song, you got into them because Jason Shwartzman was in the band. Well, okay, there were probably a few people who didn't jump on the bandwagon because of those things, but I know I did because of the Shwartzman thing. That said, I was honestly impressed with this new release, even though it is, much like most of the PP albums, Shwartzman-less. I think that this album has the potential to help them jump past the "California" thing and make the songs they're currently writing count for more than pop drivel. If that makes any sense at all...
