Monolith Music Festival 2009 Wrap-Up: The Depreciation Guild
The Depreciation Guild was one of the bands that I was really confused by. I knew about them because they're on a couple Chiptune sites, which made me wonder why they would be playing something like Monolith. They also play a confusing blend of rock and roll shoegaze and chip tune. I was a little nonplussed by their set, mostly because I couldn't hear any 8bit sounds, despite the famicom sitting on a table on the stage. Maybe their sound doesn't work very well on a sound system as large as Red Rocks. But my opinion is that few people actually sound good at Red Rocks on the mainstage. that's just my bias though. I'd see them again, but in a smaller setting.
