When the Walkmen started playing I actually didn't think it was them. It took me a second to realize why, but it eventually dawned on me that it was because I was used to the Walkmen being a quiet, moody band. The Walkmen were certainly an emotional live band, but quiet at a festival doesn't really fly, so their songs were a little jarring for me. It was interesting to hear their songs transformed in such a way, but I thinkI'd prefer to see the band in a more intimate setting to hear the songs the way they were recorded, which I must say I simply adore.
